In recent blogs, Heads&Heads has been a bit critical about the future of Horse Racing in the UK. However, it would appear some bookmakers do not share our negative view. Betway has recently extended its support of the Newmarket and Haydock meetings by signing deals with Jockey Club Racecourse, Arena Racing Company (ARC) and York Racecourse to retain its sponsorship of heading contests.
Interestingly, this has come at a time when Heads&Heads has seen Betway increasingly become a feature of our Friday Reload offer emails. So we’ll be keeping a very close eye on whether they start providing reload offers during the week for these race courses.
In October, Betway gained Authorised Betting Partner status and has also branched out to Haydock to sponsor the Group 3 John of Gaunt Stakes on 10 June. As well as this, the firm has renewed its backing of the Group 2 Betway Yorkshire Cup and Group 2 Betway Great Voltigeur at York, along with the traditional season starter, the Betway Lincoln.
What is even more exciting for us is how vocal Betway have been in their support of Horse Racing in the UK. This is hugely important to the health of the market, having big name bookmakers come out in support of the industry. Marketing & Operations Director at Betway, Anthony Werkman comments: “We are totally committed to supporting British horse racing and are really excited to announce these new deals, as well as the extensions to some of our flagship Flat sponsorships. Our involvement in key races across York, Doncaster, Newmarket and Haydock means that we’ve got a calendar packed full of great sponsorships and we’re looking forward to the Flat season ahead.”
So, fingers crossed, Heads&Heads will be able to include Betway in our Reload Offer section even more in 2017!
